Junior Batabano 2010

Some of our Year 6 students took part in the Junior Batabano Parade. Students from lots of schools dress up in themed costumes and then parade through the centre of our capital, Georgetown. We dance to the music as we parade. At the end of the parade there is a dance competition. We did not win a prize but we had great fun!

On Thursday the 22nd of April we are going to have a contest in school in year 5McCall, I am in that class. In the class we are going to pair up in groups of girls and boys, I have a great idea for the girls but we have not started. We have to make something out of recycled stuff.

Hi my name is Kimberly. In Carifta Cayman got one gold. In the U-17 girls 4x 100 relay we got disqualified and then in the 4x 100 in the U-17 and the U-20 we almost got a bronze and a silver but we came in 5th and 4th.

Hi my name is Destini and I am going to tell you all about fishing in the Cayman Islands. The Cayman Islands is a good place to come to go fishing because we have a lot of colorful fish in our waters. They are very good fish that taste very good.My favourite fish is our baracuda I like that fish because it is a very good fish. Sometimes on a Saturday me and my dad go fishing.

Cayman Island Festivals

Hi, my name is Chanelle and I'm going to tell you a little about Cayman Islands Festivals. In Cayman we have a very special festival called NCFA ( National Chidrens Festival Arts). In NCFA chidren from different schools come togher to compete. They can do any kind of talent. Dancing is the post popular. I think Sinapore is a really cool contry. I've heard Mee (noodles) is a a very popular food tradition.

Cayman has won 4 trophies while playing football.
Also, some schools in the Cayman Islands such as Cayman Prep and FBCS play rugby.
Some of the people in CAYMAN like to swim in a beach called Seven Mile Beach.

There are many different types of animals in the Cayman Islands. The Blue Iguana(Only found in the Cayman Islands), and the Cayman Parrot are Cayman's National Animals. In Cayman there are also Dolphins, Beautiful Coral Reefs and LOTS of Wild Chickens/Birds, and lots of Different Animals.(Too many to Name.

Hello, my name is Lanie here in Cayman we have the Cayman parrot,green sea turtle and blue Iguana there are more but these are some of the special animals in Cayman. The Cayman parrot is our national animal. The green sea turtle was spotted by Christopher Columbus when he discoverd the Cayman Islands. He thought Cayman was a floating Island and the blue Iguana you can find only in Cayman.
